Patch alpha (0.148.0-alpha.7) that drops config-lock support, adds a small config knob, and continues internal thread/session and MCP plumbing work.

Changelog

  • [removed] Config lock support is gone (including the related lockfile/debug config types), so Codex no longer maintains or reads a separate config lock path.
  • [new] Config key exclude_slash_tmp is available for controlling whether slash-tmp paths are excluded.
  • [changed] Session/thread handling picks up clearer session identity support (including CODEX_SESSION / CODEX_SESSION_ID) and richer thread fork, resume, and section payloads.
  • [changed] MCP server status and related protocol surfaces were refreshed (status fields and content/elicitation variants).
  • [removed] The CODEX_SANDBOX_NETWORK_DISABLED environment variable is no longer present.

Under the hood

  • First-party config-lock modules were deleted as part of removing that path end-to-end.
  • Account, plugin-share, marketplace, skills, guardian warning, and token-usage models were reshaped; several older debug/announcement and agent-list/resume argument types were dropped or replaced.
  • Client event naming moved from a generic ack-style event toward chunked client message events.
  • Workspace lockfiles and version.json were bumped for 0.148.0-alpha.7.
