Patch alpha (0.162.0-alpha.14): codex remote-control can run an embedded app-server in the foreground, with supporting TUI and app-server work.

Changelog

  • [new] codex remote-control --no-daemon runs an embedded app-server in the foreground until Ctrl-C, instead of only managing a background daemon.
  • [changed] Bash, fish, and zsh completions now offer --no-daemon on remote-control.

Under the hood

  • Startup bootstrap and app-server thread ownership in the TUI were split out so the CLI can host an embedded app-server in-process more cleanly (the path --no-daemon uses).
  • Activity-chart palette and empty-state lighting animation work landed, along with a color_quant dependency for color handling.
  • Chat-widget turn runtime was folded into the surrounding TUI instead of living as its own module.
