Minor release 3.11 (Jul 10, 2026): side chats, conversation search, redesigned project/repo pickers, and new cloud agent conversation hooks.

Changelog

  • [new] Side chats — Open a side chat beside your main agent conversation (/side, /btw, or the plus button) with context from the main chat. Each side chat is a full, durable agent conversation you can follow up on, revisit, and @-mention back into the main thread. Default focus is reading, searching, and answering so you can clarify, research alternatives, or sanity-check without interrupting the main agent.
  • [new] Conversation search — Search agent transcripts from the Agents Window via the command palette (Cmd+K) using a local index built for large conversation history. Search within a conversation with Cmd+F, with match navigation and a match counter while scrolling long transcripts.
  • [changed] Project and repo pickers — Stay in the picker for workflows that previously sent you elsewhere (e.g. create a project and connect GitHub, GitLab, or Azure DevOps). Search is scoped to This Computer, Cloud, or a specific remote machine. You can remove projects from Recents in one click.
  • [new] Cloud agent hooks for the conversation itself — Beyond existing team hooks around tool/file/shell work, new hooks cover prompts, responses, thinking, subagents, compaction, and turn completion (including beforeSubmitPrompt, afterAgentResponse, afterAgentThought, stop, subagentStart, and more). See supported hooks in the docs.
  • [changed] Repo picker grouping — Options grouped under No Repo, On This Computer, and Cloud.
  • [new] "Run on" picker — Shows where an agent can run (Cloud, This Computer, or Remote Machines) and drills into environments, local options, and related choices.
  • [changed] Branch picker — Opens on your default branch and recently used branches, with search for the rest; redundant Current tag removed from the branch list.
  • [changed] No Repo instead of Home — Working without a repo is an explicit No Repo choice (findable by typing none or no repo).
  • [changed] Remote Machines menu — Your machines, team pools, and existing remote workspaces are combined into one searchable menu.
  • [changed] Multi-repo / multi-root selection — Select Multiple toggle inside the Cloud and This Computer flyouts replaces the separate Set Up Workspace builder.
  • [changed] Picker chrome — Search moved to the top of the menu; simplified footer; clearer section dividers; folder icons with a small cloud badge for cloud repos. If a repo exists only in the cloud, the picker can suggest cloning it locally.
