Cursor IDE

Minor release (build 20260819-181343Z-621090ca53ad): cloud agents gain subscriptions, long-lived goals, isolated subagent VMs, custom modes, and non-interrupting steering.

Changelog

  • [new] Subscriptions (cloud agents): Agents can subscribe to event sources—PRs, Slack threads, or scheduled tasks—and wake when something happens. Cloud agents auto-subscribe to PRs they open and drive them through CI fixes and bot comments; in Slack you can ask the agent to check back later and keep going until feedback is in.
  • [new] /goal: Give the agent a long-lived objective to pursue until it is fully complete (for example, fix flaky tests and make CI green). Works well with a custom mode or /loop for recurring check-ins.
  • [new] Subagents on their own machines: Subagents can run on isolated VMs, each with its own copy of the project and clean context, so they can test parent changes in fresh environments or swarm independent fixes without collisions.
  • [new] Custom modes: Use any skill as a pinned “always on” mode in chat. From /, pick a skill and press ⌥⏎ (Mac) or Alt+Enter (Windows), or choose Use as Mode.
  • [changed] Steering: Follow-up messages can steer a working agent without cutting it off mid-action; they wait for the next tool call. Send a follow-up with Send now, or press ⏎ twice.

Availability
