Minor release 3.21.4 on the latest channel: cloud agent reliability work, broader agent/tooling surface (canvas, knowledge base, web and git helpers), and assorted Glass/Sandbox prep—stable remains on 3.20.21.

  • [fix] Cloud Agents: repair path for stalled agent panes is enabled so stuck sessions can recover more cleanly.
  • [new] Canvas: in-product canvas surface wiring (cursor.com/canvas) with read/write support for agent-driven canvas workflows.
  • [new] Agent tools: server support for web fetch, web search, and image generation runs from the AI service.
  • [new] Knowledge base: add, list, and update APIs for managing knowledge-base content from the IDE.
  • [new] Git helpers: model-assisted git branch naming and commit message writing.
  • [new] Cmd+K: streaming and context rerank paths for editor and terminal Cmd+K flows.
  • [new] MCP: admin tool discovery and related list/call/preview flows for organization-managed MCP tools.
  • [new] Agent host: session storage owned by the agent host, optional migrate-on-open, desktop lease, and host updater hooks for local/cloud agent runs.
  • [new] Cloud / Sandbox: clone kits in-app, add local agent to a cloud project, cloud agent artifacts, in-progress tasks, and simplified right-pane options (flag-gated).
  • [new] Glass UI: empty-state recommended actions, markdown table expand, offline tray, origin PR notifications, PR tray stack groups, and Linear ticket previews (flag-gated).
  • [new] Local models: Glass path for local Ollama (flag-gated).
  • [new] Integrations: 1Password connection/credential approval flows; Grok bot onboarding, mail, group chats, fleet operations, and related team controls (flag-gated).
  • [new] Voice (Sandbox): memos, steer, stay-silent, async update, call feedback, and related harness work (flag-gated).
  • [changed] File sync and repository index handshakes expanded (sync file/upload, fast repo init/sync, merkle subtree updates).
  • [changed] Analytics can ingest conversations; dashboard support for sharing a conversation.
  • [removed] Built-in commands cursor.checkOkToIndexLink and cursor.newdocs.
  • [removed] Legacy or superseded experiments, including PDF file tab preview, cloud agent pin sync, speculative follow-up wake, auto env setup onboarding, combined computer-use flag, marketplace bots v2 defaults, and several older voice/speech-tag flags.

Availability

3.21.4 is on latest for macOS (arm64 and x64), Linux (arm64 and x64), and Windows (arm64 and x64). Stable is still on 3.20.21.

Upgrade notes

  • After upgrading to latest, confirm Cloud Agent panes that previously stalled now recover as expected.
  • Features behind new Glass, Sandbox, Grok bot, MCP admin, canvas, and voice flags may not appear until those flags are turned on for your account or team.
  • If you relied on cursor.newdocs or cursor.checkOkToIndexLink, those commands are no longer registered in this build.
