  • gemini-2.5-computer-use-preview-10-2025 is documented as shut down on July 28, 2026. Migrate to Gemini 3.8 Flash or other Gemini 3 models with built-in computer use.
  • Deprecations now lists gemini-2.5-computer-use-preview-10-2025 (October 7, 2025; shutdown July 28, 2026) and gemini-3.8-flash.
  • The models list moves Computer Use into the shut-down section.
  • Computer Use and generateContent Computer Use drop the Gemini 2.5 legacy samples.

Pricing

  • Pricing removes the Gemini 2.5 Computer Use Preview rate table. Computer use is billed as regular tokens (for example, standard Gemini 3.8 Flash pricing).

Speech generation

  • Speech generation now calls for the latest Google GenAI SDK (google-genai >= 2.25.0 or @google/genai >= 2.24.0). speech_config is documented as an array for single-speaker and an object with speakers for multi-speaker; the Go sample uses gemini-3.8-flash-tts.
  • generateContent speech generation JS examples use speechMetadata. For Gemini 3.8 TTS unary WAV output, write decoded bytes directly to a .wav file; for headerless PCM, mu-law, or A-law, set response_format.audio.mime_type to AUDIO_L16, AUDIO_MULAW, or AUDIO_ALAW.
  • Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS and Gemini 3.8 Flash Lite TTS clarify response_format.mime_type for the Interactions API versus AUDIO_L16 / AUDIO_MULAW / AUDIO_ALAW in generateContent.

Migration and partner integration

  • Migrate to Google Cloud recommends the Interactions API for Gemini Developer API vs Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform comparisons, with google-genai >= 2.3.0 examples using gemini-3.8-flash.
  • Partner integration Direct API REST sample now POSTs to https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com/v1beta/interactions with an x-goog-api-key header.
