Patch release 1.0.44: models can expose more than one context window, and you can pick the size in-session. /compact no longer takes a keep-note.
Changelog
[new] /context-window <size> sets the context window for the current model. It appears only when that model offers more than one size, accepts a short label (500k) or a raw token count, lasts for the session, and carries over when you switch to another model that supports the same size. Choosing a window smaller than current usage starts an auto-compact.
[changed] /model (alias /m) can take a window size after the model name when multiple windows are available. Reasoning effort stays last. The picker asks in that order: model, then window, then effort — for example /model Reasoning X 500k high.
[changed] Custom model config can list context_windows = [256000, 500000]. context_window remains the default (the first listed size when unset); older clients ignore the list.
[changed] /compact only compresses conversation history. It no longer accepts an optional note about what to keep.
Upgrade notes
/compact keep the auth implementation details (and any other /compact <note>) is no longer valid; run /compact with no arguments.
If you ship model overrides, add context_windows only as a list of sizes. Clients that do not understand the field will keep using context_window.
