Docs update notes

Livestream API

New Livestream API documentation is live, covering setup, authentication, sources, broadcasts, scheduled broadcasts, and live chat.

Getting started

  • /livestream-api/introduction
  • /livestream-api/getting-started
  • /livestream-api/authentication (OAuth 2.0 recommended; OAuth 1.0a also supported)
  • /livestream-api/typical-workflow

Sources

  • /livestream-api/sources/overview
  • Create, list, get, update, delete source, and get recommended region: create-source, list-sources, get-source, update-source, delete-source, get-recommended-region

Broadcasts

  • /livestream-api/broadcasts/overview (lifecycle and states)
  • Create, list, get, delete, and publish or end: create-broadcast, list-broadcasts, get-broadcast, get-broadcast-by-id, get-broadcasts, delete-broadcast, publish-or-end-broadcast

Scheduled broadcasts

  • /livestream-api/scheduled-broadcasts/overview
  • Create, list, get, update, delete, and go live: create-scheduled-broadcast, list-scheduled-broadcasts, get-scheduled-broadcast, update-scheduled-broadcast, delete-scheduled-broadcast, go-live

Live chat

  • /livestream-api/chat/accessing-live-chat (webhooks and broadcast.chat)
  • Send/delete messages, history, mute/unmute, and moderators: send-chat-message, delete-chat-message, get-chat-history, mute-chat-user, unmute-chat-user, add-moderator, remove-moderator, list-moderators

X API v2 — Broadcasts & chat

New pages

  • /x-api/broadcasts/add-a-chat-moderator
  • /x-api/broadcasts/get-chat-moderators
  • /x-api/broadcasts/remove-a-chat-moderator

Permission wording updates — mute, unmute, and remove-message endpoints now state the authenticated user must be the broadcast host or a moderator (not only the owner):

  • /x-api/broadcasts/mute-a-user-in-a-broadcast-chat
  • /x-api/broadcasts/mute-or-time-out-a-user-in-a-broadcast-chat
  • /x-api/broadcasts/unmute-a-user-in-a-broadcast-chat
  • /x-api/broadcasts/remove-a-chat-message-from-a-live-broadcast

Chat send

  • /x-api/chat/send-chat-message documents HTTP 403 recipient-not-messageable when the recipient cannot be messaged (closed inbox, system/notification account, or 1:1 block).

X API v2 — Activity

On /x-api/activity/introduction, subscription filters gain a post_id qualifier so like.create events can be limited to likes on a specific Post.

X Ads API — Lead Generation

New pages

  • /x-ads-api/lead-generation
  • /x-ads-api/lead-generation/reference

Docs cover creating and managing native lead forms, attaching a form to a card with destination type LEAD_FORM, and exporting submitted leads (JSON, CSV, or XLSX). The Leads API requires the Campaign user permission; lead exports are limited to account administrators.

Related updates

  • /x-ads-api/creatives/reference — LEAD_FORM destination type and schema
  • /x-ads-api/creatives — link to lead form cards
  • /x-ads-api/campaign-management — Lead Gen Ads section
  • /x-ads-api/fundamentals/hierarchy-and-terminology — lead forms terminology
  • /x-ads-api/fundamentals/accessing-ads-accounts — Leads API and export permission notes
  • /x-ads-api/introduction — minor cross-link refresh

Changelog

/changelog adds a Sep 15, 2026 entry for the Ads API Lead Generation documentation (forms, LEAD_FORM card destination, and lead exports).
