xAI Docs release notes – June 10, 2026

Text-to-Speech

• Added full documentation for the new with_timestamps parameter on the TTS endpoint.
• New “Character-level timestamps” section covers requesting timestamps, response shape (JSON envelope with base64 audio + audio_timestamps), and handling of special characters.
• Updated streaming and non-streaming examples across Python, JavaScript, Swift, and curl to show timestamp usage.

Voice Agent & Realtime API

• Added “Session Resumption” section explaining how to persist conversation history across WebSocket reconnects using resumption.enabled and conversation_id.
• Documented new turn_detection.idle_timeout_ms parameter and the input_audio_buffer.timeout_triggered server event.
• Updated request/response schemas and code examples for both features.

REST API Reference

• Added prompt_cache_key parameter to the Chat Completions reference.
• Removed outdated service_tier fields from the Images and Videos references (cleanup only).
