Pricing & models

  • Combined Chat API Pricing and Code API Pricing into a single Text API Pricing section on the pricing and models pages.
  • Pricing tables now include cached input rates and long-context tiers (separate rows for prompts under vs. at/above 200k tokens), with a note that long-context requests are billed at the higher rate for all tokens in the request.

Batch API

  • Documented that grok-4.5 is not supported for Batch API requests (requests are rejected).
  • Batch API code samples now use grok-4.3 instead of grok-4.5.

Tools

  • Function calling: TypeScript examples updated to the current tool schema and stream chunk fields (inputSchema, input, output).
  • Citations: Clarified that inline citations are enabled by default for the Responses API.

Files

  • Chat with files: Example image asset updated to an xAI-hosted URL.
