ChatGPT app experience updates (2026-08-14)

  • Interactive quizzes — Ask ChatGPT to quiz you in-conversation; available on all consumer plans and Edu (web + mobile).
  • Project memory settings — For eligible unshared projects, switch Default vs Project-only memory after creation (three-dot menu → Project settings). Shared projects stay project-only; changes can take a few hours. All plans; ChatGPT Work unavailable under project-only memory.
  • Personalized homepage suggestions — Eligible paid users can get suggestions from conversation history and connected tools.
  • Web: Think selectable on Free and Go for harder questions.
  • Android: Dictation stays available after text/attachments; composer suggestions stay in sync while typing/deleting; physical keyboards keep composer focus.
  • Linux desktop (public preview): ChatGPT + Codex on Ubuntu 24.04/26.04 LTS, Debian 13, Fedora 43/44 — Download. Built-in browser or Chrome actions supported; controlling other desktop apps not yet.
